WebmasterStash & WebmasterWide Merger!

Posted By: Rick On 17th Oct 2008 at 10:53am

Well as you can see, WebmasterStash has now merged with WebmasterWide. Welcome to all WebmasterWide members!

In addition to the merger, we've also changed the design of the site to reflect the new "forum-only" system. We have closed off the main part of the site and will be operating as a big community instead. We do plan on posting all the tutorials into the forum soon however!

All thats left to be said is welcome (back) to WebmasterStash! :thumbup2:

Current situation

Posted By: Rick On 13th Jun 2008 at 5:59am

Hi all,

firstly let me apologise for this place being completely deserted! Myself and Mike have a lot going on at the moment (work, college, etc) and havn't had much time to work on the place.

I'm aware of a problem with our server that is causing the site to be constantly slow and sometimes unavaliable. I'm working on it and should have either a new hosting account, or fix the current server (if its within my abilitys) in the next few weeks.

I think we kinda overloaded the server a little as its currently powering pretty much all our sites. I'll be offloading some of them onto alternate hosting space.

As for the site, I finish college in the next few weeks and really want to get this place up and running again...I'm in the process (right now) of adding to and tweeking the site a little. I'll be adding a search option, and removing the right hand bar from the site as we don't really need a newsletter or poll at the moment! This will give more space for content to be shown, and make the layout less cluttered!

I am going to be re doing the design, however it wont be ready for a while. If anyone has any suggestions, please do feel free to let us know!

I'll be adding the second part of my chat/shoutbox tutorial soon too. I know there is a few people eagerly awating that!

Anyway, I think thats about it for now...I'll post up a notice when part 2 of my tutorial goes live, until then...

Rick

We're not dead...just asleep!

Posted By: Rick On 26th Apr 2008 at 6:40am

Its been a while...whats happened you ask? Well at the moment I've got lots of college work, which is my top priority, I cant get into Uni if I dont get it done on time.

Mike is also very busy at work, as a professional PHP coder his day job has to come first, hobbies second. Because of this we've not really had a lot of time to work on the site.

I did add part one of my shoutbox/chatroom tutorial, and will be doing part two in a couple of weeks time.

We're looking to get some additional staff to help out, post tutorials, etc. If anyone is interested please email us, you would be given ad-space and a revenue share as payment.

For the next month or two I wont be able to do all that much, however I finish college in July and will have plenty of time to work on updates!

Whats been happening...

Posted By: Rick On 20th Mar 2008 at 11:09am

Well I thought it would be a good idea to explain whats currently happening at WebmasterStash.

We're in the process of making some great changes which will provide a huge range of new features, and make our entire website feel much more community orientated.

Heres a brief overview of whats to come:

> New site-wide design
> Great new webmaster tools
> A website directory for members to submit their sites to
> Web hosting provider directory with reviews & more
> Code Library - free snippets of code for your sites!
> Enhanced community features, and great new freebies!

As you can see these are some awesome new additions, and we hope this will help to provide webmasters with a truly ultimate source.

We've not got a release date yet, however we can tell you we are actively working to complete these new features.

We are also aware that IE7 users have been having many problems viewing our website, this will be resolved when these new features go live.

Thanks for hanging in there folks!

Rick

Another Stash News Update

Posted By: Mike On 25th Jan 2008 at 3:19pm

Another bug was brought to my attention via email and the forums which has now been fixed.
Problem was compatibility issues with php4. This has now been fixed and you can download the full zip of 1.1.1 from here.

Or if you wish to upgrade from 1.1.0 (The upgrade only works from 1.1.0 to 1.1.1) you can get that here along with the upgrade documentation in the forum post.

Mike
